What is it?
Red Rose 2026 will be an amazing international camping adventure with a fantastic, varied programme of activities.
What will it be like?
We are taking the unique jamboree feel of our domestic event to Canada! There will be a mixed programme of adventure, fun, adrenaline and culture. There will be an opportunity for you to shape your experience with elements of the programme being selectable for your group/contingent. We'll be busy exploring the local area, providing adventure and cultural experiences for our participants and generally ensuring an unforgettable experience for all involved.
Participants will be camping under canvas (we will take our own tents with us) and will be centrally catered for all meals. Centralised wash and sanitation facilities will be available.
When is it and what is the duration?
10 days (2 days travel, 8 days programme).
The dates that we are currently looking at for Canada 2026 are Friday 31st July 2026 - Sunday 9th August 2026. These dates are subject to confirmation nearer the time and flight availability.
Where is it?
Ontario region of Canada, close to Toronto. A site has been identified and will be confirmed in due course.
Who can go?
The event is open to all Scouts who will be 10.5 years old (age of entry into the Scout section) on the first day of travel (as documented on their passport). It is a West Lancs Scouts event for Groups and Districts within the County.
All Scouts will require a leader in charge of their group/district/contingent to travel and attend the event with them. We encourage merged bookings of groups/units to ensure leader cover for young people.
Scout Network Members: You will attend mainly as participants and join in the wider programme, but we ask for your assistance around the event on a couple of occasions during the week to help the camp succeed. Assistance will be limited to simple activities such as general marshalling, assisting catering team or assisting site team in maintaining facilities.
Non West Lancs Groups
If you are a group/district who has attended our domestic Red Rose events and are interested in attending; we may be able to accept your booking subject to availability. Please contact canada@redrose.org.uk in the first instance.
Can I come as staff?
The event will require a small staff team but this will not be extensive (compared to domestic Red Rose events). Any roles will generally be directly appointed as required by the core team of the event.
Please complete a enquiry form form to register your interest in attending as staff but we cannot guarantee you a staff role due to the small number of staff roles required.

What is the cost and how do I book?
£2,250
Payable as follows (end of each month):
- You may initially register your details for you and your group on the booking form without payment
- To confirm your place, the first instalment of £200 is payable, per person, by 31st of December 2024
- This instalment of £200 per person is refundable up until the date of the second instalment below
- £425 March 25 (instalment 2 - your booking numbers cannot decrease once this is paid)

- £350 Mar 26 (final payment)
What is included?
- Flights to and from Canada
- You will need to arrange your UK transfers - unless it is not a North West airport; in which case the event will arrange a transport option
- All internal transport in Canada

- T-Shirt, Necker and Badge
